HBMAME 0.245.17 ROMs sooner

thanks again Loggan08, but I already tried with this file and some close variations.

All the sample names are different frown I tough ned a renaming, but more than that, need more samples:
clearmamepro mention 84 samples missing, when this zip file contains only 41 and other variation files contains 43 files cry
Someone have the complete one with 84 samples and good names?

As stated in the logfile for 0.20 https://sfz3mix.github.io/download/log.txt, this is only some optional music.

Optional custom music added.
The songs will only be played if the samples folder contains 
a .wav with the same ID as the song to be played.
The songs can be exchanged for any other .wav

Here attached the resulting file that is working for me (perhaps some useless wav inside, but it's working)

 

My only remaining reccurent issue since few last versions of HBMame, is the will of clrmamepro to remove some roms inside the sarge.zip rom file, but if I let him remove them, than HB MameUI scan reveal they are missing..strange ; so I have them again manually and now skip this remove when I scan, but I canot understand this behavior of clrmapro

 It's not a good idea to create a fake sample set just to get a green tick in Clrmamepro.

If the wave files don't exist you just don't use fake ones, it's simple.

Come on now, you've been around here long enough to know that people here do not care about the technical aspects of MAME or any other emulator.  They only want complete sets, good or bad.

I don't like how ppl are speaking to others in this topic, please be polite to each other.

When samples does not exists they should not be replaced by "fake sounds" only to have CLRMAME happy (or any other rommanager) and everything looks green. It makes no sense that in a game a "sample" that should be played sounds "different". Is that really what you want that it sounds wrong? hmm cant follow that feeling.

Sorry this is only my own opinion.

As samples have no checksum and only name are required/verified you can replace the "bong.wav" with "beep.wav" or "hello.wav" and rename them to "bong.wav" ;-)

If you know what you are doing then it is ok, point.

The freak out is the fear that if you use fake samples, it will lessen the chance of getting real samples, at least that's how the thinking is on the MAME message boards.

hmm is it the same? I don't think so. Every game has a description and there you can see what it hacked or changed compared to the original. If ppl does not know what the are playing, sorry that's another topic ;-) And also for those hacks are checksum available to verify if it is the right file.

If you add "fake samples" to your collection it is your decision, but sharing to others might be not the best way. Does you know after everything is "green" which file are fake samples? There is no checksum available, you don't see it in the filename. When I have a "green" complete set I do not hunt for "missing" parts, why should I? I have reached 100% ;-)

And yes maybe we don't get the "real" samples ever, that's true. And now let all their opinion, be polite and respect each other again.
