IP Ban Frequently

So recently I downloaded Dead or Alive 2, Naomi bios, and Pac-Man. All very tiny. I ended up IP banned (I verified by using VPN). I didn't pay for membership, but was well below the threshold for file downloads. Eventually it gets lifted. 

This has been a re-occurring theme. I use Edge (Chrome ver.) to download. Should I use FireFox instead? Is my browser sending bad data resulting in temp ban? 

I plan to drop on the premium membership as I need a new romset, and I'll use wget scripts to pull data. I've been IP blocked even with the highest paid tier. 

Any thoughts to avoid?

Using fake usernames is not permitted to bypass daily limits. While you were not doing that, the server probably saw multiple users downloading from the same VPN provider on the same nat'd IP address and blocked it. VPN usage is OK, but not guaranteed to be supported if other people use the same provider to download at the same time.
