Split or Merged?

Hi, my MAME ROMs and SL ROMs are currently Split sets.

But I'm considering switching to a Merged set.

I wondered if using a Merged set would cause any issues and if anyone has an opinion on which is best?

for my purpose (webhosting) merged makes more sence.

Merged works fine with MAME, and occupy less space. So merged for me.

Thanks to you both; I decided to rebuild my set.

I went from about 40,000 files to 14,000.

I saved about 3GB (135GB to 132GB).

This should make backing up a little faster, as there are less smaller files now.

I also tried the same with my FBNeo set, and went from 38GB to 12GB I must have been using a non-merged set for those!
